Bumble App Bans Gun Photos to Help Singles Date Safer

Bumble promotes safe online dating and has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, sexual abuse, and violence. If you or someone you know has been abused, harassed, or wounded, there are organisations that provide confidential assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It’s never your fault, and you’re not alone.

Their top aim is to keep you secure. Everyone is expected to follow the user rules whenever they use Bumble in order to ensure that each member of our community is treated with love and respect. If you break these rules, you may be permanently barred from using the app.

Following this aim, Bumble banned the photos with guns on its site and took down all the photos that had weapons. In this blog, I will tell you in detail why they did so and what are the consequences bumble users might face if they upload such a picture.

Why bumble don’t accept gun photos?

Bumble removed images of guns from their platform in 2018. Before meeting in person, bumble urges its users to get to know one another and grasp their underlying principles.

Bumble, a dating service, banned photographs that contained weapons or knives or guns. The prohibition does not apply to users who are in uniform in the military or police enforcement. Users will be able to file an appeal to get individual images restored if they are in any such service.

If you are someone who loves weapons, you might want to include that in your profile or bring it up in conversation. These and other activities can also be listed in the ‘About’ area of your profile to help potential matches learn more about you.

You may also connect your Instagram account to your Bumble profile, allowing you to show off up to 24 photographs but not your Instagram name or bio, so your privacy will be protected.

Was the gun ban on bumble for safety?

Yes, bumble did it to make dating safer. They have censors on hand 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to guarantee that Bumble is a safe environment for everyone, including ensuring that there are no gun photographs on our site.

The photos were taken down after the ban and it won’t approve any such photos in today’s time if you upload one, and you will be notified that it violated their policies. Someone could be removed from the app if they continue to share gun photographs after being requested to remove them.

Bumble’s decision to prohibit users from posting photographs of themselves holding guns on their profiles is part of a bigger effort to promote accountability offline. Bumble has been buoyed by the outpouring of support they have received, notably from heroic Parkland school shooting survivors. Also, they support students’ right to an education free of gun violence.

When a user receives a warning or their account is blocked, they will receive an email and a message when they open Bumble again. This will include the behaviour that was reported as well as a brief explanation of why action was taken. You may check out my other blog to know in detail about the photo policy of bumble.

The bottom line

So, if you don’t want to get banned on bumble then you need to follow their safety policies. Because Bumble Blocks are irreversible, the only way to reclaim your Bumble account and use Bumble again is to reset your account.

This means you’ll need to delete your existing account (if you still have access to it) and register a new one with different login details than the one Bumble has blocked.

I hope you find this helpful.
